The 2026 dB Drag Racing North American Finals, organised by the dB Drag Racing Association, recently wrapped up with 10 world records set across the dB Drag Racing, Psychlone and Freestyle competitions, as visitors from the US and Canada brought the season to an ear-bending conclusion.

Held from October 3-4, the finals used a two-location format, with events running simultaneously at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis and FX Audio in Spruce Grove, Alberta. Competitors battled for titles across multiple categories.

Among the standout results were Donteay Jones’ world records of 178.2dB in Freestyle Wall and 173.7dB in the Super Street 3-4 class. Meanwhile, dB Rev Jay recorded 176dB in Super Street 5+, while dB Rev XS Power reached 170.7dB in Freestyle NL and 166.4dB in Pro Stock NL.

Alongside the record-breaking performances, the finals crowned champions in the various competition formats. The event brought together competitors, judges and staff from across North America and beyond, with organisers thanking the teams, host venues and sponsors who helped deliver the season finale.

The 10 world records from the North American event were joined by 13 set across multiple classes at the Euro Finals in Montichiari, Italy, just weeks earlier. Competitors travelled from across Europe to Centro Fiera del Garda, with the Finals held alongside the Festival dei Motori car show. The weekend produced some impressive numbers, including a massive 184.3dB in the Extreme division.
For anyone who thinks car audio is simply about adding a subwoofer and turning up the volume, the results offer a glimpse into the competitive end of the hobby, where carefully built systems are pushed to extremes in tightly defined classes.
