Small cars don’t always mean small ambitions – and this Abarth 595 is proof that even compact performance cars can become serious audio machines.

Cambridge Car Audio has completed a full sound system upgrade on the Italian hot hatch, combining premium Audison hardware – distributed in the UK by Four Car Audio – extensive sound deadening and professional DSP tuning to create a more refined listening experience without compromising the car’s character.

The build began with Skinz sound deadening throughout the doors, boot area and bootlid, helping reduce unwanted vibration, resonance and road noise. By improving the acoustic environment before adding new hardware, the installation team was able to create a cleaner foundation for the upgraded system.

At the heart of the transformation is a full Audison set-up, featuring Voce II mid-bass speakers – with components up front and more in the rear panels – a Voce II 10in subwoofer enclosure, Forza AF M12.14-bit DSP amplifier, Forza AF M1D mono amplifier and a DRC AC controller.

The system was then professionally tuned to suit the Abarth’s cabin, delivering improved vocal clarity, stronger mid-bass response and deeper, more controlled low frequencies.

Despite the extensive upgrade, the finished installation retains a factory-style appearance, with the upgraded speakers positioned behind the original grilles and the boot equipment arranged neatly for a clean, purposeful finish.

It’s a fitting upgrade for the Abarth 595 – a car built around personality and performance, now with a sound system capable of matching its attitude.
