VIDEO: Parksafe’s AI Bird’s-Eye Tech Gives Vans and Fleets a New 360-Degree Safety View

Reverse cameras used to feel futuristic. Now one company is giving fleet drivers something that looks like it’s borrowed from a video game.

Parksafe has unveiled its new AI Birdseye 360 system, a camera set-up designed to give drivers a full aerial view of their vehicle in real time.

Using four ultra-wide HD cameras mounted around the vehicle, the system stitches together a live top-down image of everything around it. The result is the kind of parking view previously reserved for high-end SUVs – except this one is aimed at vans, trucks and commercial fleets.

The clever bit is the AI layer. See the video below for a full explanation:

Rather than just showing what’s around the vehicle, the system actively identifies pedestrians, cyclists and nearby obstacles, issuing both visual and audible alerts if something enters a danger zone. In busy towns and tight delivery yards, that could make a big difference.

For fleet operators, it’s not just about avoiding scrapes. Parksafe says the system can also integrate with its telematics platform, giving remote access to recorded footage, vehicle activity and driver behaviour.

That makes it part safety tool, part management platform – and another sign of how aftermarket tech is moving well beyond parking sensors and dash cams.

As urban roads get busier and commercial vehicles grow larger, 360-degree visibility is fast becoming more than a luxury extra. For some fleets, it could soon be essential kit.
