If you thought square subs were just a gimmick, think again — Kicker has gone full “big boot-time bass” mode with the latest iteration of its award-winning Solo X subwoofer line: SoloXS. Previewed at the 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, this is serious kit arriving in the UK early next year via distributor Celsus.

Why square? Because Kicker reckons a square cone offers about 20% more surface area, meaning more air moved, more boom, and more “did you feel that?” moments. The SoloXS range is officially billed as Kicker’s biggest and baddest yet. The 12in L7XS12 handles 3,000W RMS, the 15in L7XS15 the same, and the flagship 18in L7XS18 hits 4,000W RMS. Kicker claims that those numbers can be handled for up to four hours too. Yup.
Features include a massive 4in voice coil with robust aluminium former, reinforcement collars, 86mm winding width, 280mm-diameter triple magnets, and Kicker's longest-ever stack height of 96.3mm. Dual Conex meta-aramid-fibre spiders offer superior strength and heat resistance, and the new surround design provides extreme excursion with precise linear control for deeper, tighter bass. A carbon-fibre dust cap and glass-fibre-reinforced paper pulp cone, with a new in-house FEA extended pole to optimise the magnetic field, enhance the overall power and response.

If you’re installing in a UK ride and want that next-level thump without sacrificing space (because yes it still fits under the boot cover), keep an eye out for Celsus bringing these subs to our shores. Up-front pricing hasn’t been confirmed for the UK yet, so speak to your local specialist and get your order in early.
Bottom line: Square may not have seemed obvious, but Kicker’s doubling down hard. If high-power, show-ready bass is your game, the SoloXS series is ready to play when 2026 begins.
