Tiny But Mighty: Audiotec Fischer’s Match Mini Amps Promise Big Factory Audio Upgrades

Good things really do come in small packages – especially if you’re trying to upgrade your car’s sound without filling the boot with hardware.

German audio specialist Audiotec Fischer has been showing off two of its smallest amplifiers yet, aimed at drivers who want a cleaner, more powerful sound without tearing apart a modern dashboard.

Audiotec Fischer is available in the UK through Midbass Distribution.

Audiotec Fischer’s M 2.1AMP model, with bags of flexibility

The new Match M 5.4DSP and Match M 2.1AMP may be compact enough to disappear behind trim panels or under seats, but they’re built to make factory audio systems sound considerably less, well, factory.

The headline act is the M 5.4DSP, a five-channel amplifier with built-in digital signal processing. Barely larger than a smartphone, it delivers up to 800W max power, with 4 x 60W RMS at 4 ohms in high power mode (minimum 3 ohms) or 4 x 35W RMS in midpower mode. It also features a dedicated subwoofer output of 1 x 90W RMS at 4 ohms or up to 160W RMS at 2 ohms, alongside a nine-channel 64-bit DSP, allowing installers to tune timing, frequency response and output to get far more from factory speakers.

For drivers in leased cars – or anyone reluctant to start hacking into brand-new dashboards – that’s a major plus. Match’s whole selling point is plug-and-play integration. The amps are designed to connect to original head units and often work with vehicle-specific looms, meaning upgrades can be reversed later if needed.

Alongside it sits the M 2.1AMP, a tiny two-channel amplifier that can be used to power front speakers or a compact subwoofer set-up. Despite its size, it delivers 1 x 350W RMS at 2 ohms in mono mode, or 2 x 170W RMS up to 430W RMS at 4 ohms in stereo mode, giving installers serious flexibility for both subwoofer and speaker applications.

As factory infotainment systems become harder to replace, products like this are becoming the go-to option for anyone wanting better sound without changing the screen.

Tiny amp, same playlist, much better drive.
