Vibe Goes Shallow on Bass and Compact but Big on Power with New Sub and Stereo Amps

There’s a familiar headache in car audio: finding room for decent bass while keeping the boot usable, or powering demanding speakers without adding another amplifier. Vibe is tackling both with a new shallow-mount subwoofer and three high-output stereo amps.

The CVEN10D2S-V5 is a 10in subwoofer designed for installations where depth is limited, while the Powerbox 2 Channel Pro range delivers up to 900W RMS per channel for full-range and pro-audio speaker systems.

Looking at the CVEN10D2S-V5 first, its big selling point is its mounting depth: just 81mm. That makes it a candidate for under-seat installations, false floors and shallow boot enclosures where a conventional 10in subwoofer simply won’t fit.

Despite its slim profile, it’s rated at 750W RMS, with a peak power rating of 1,500W. Dual 2 ohm voice coils give installers a choice of wiring configurations, including a 1 ohm or 4 ohm mono load, depending on how the coils are connected. As always, the amplifier must be stable at the resulting impedance.

Vibe has built the sub around a 45oz ferrite motor and an eight-layer CCAW voice coil on a 61mm aluminium former. A Nomex spider and foam surround complete the design, while the injection-moulded cone carries the red CVEN badge.

The CVEN range sits at the premium end of Vibe’s sound-quality line-up, with Red, Silver and Gold tiers. The CVEN10D2S-V5 joins the Red range and is available now, priced at £399.

The amplifiers, meanwhile, are designed to deliver high power to full-range speakers. The Powerbox 2 Channel Pro range comprises three compact Class D stereo amplifiers (find out what that means in our amplifier buying guide), each rated for 1 ohm operation on both channels simultaneously. This gives installers greater flexibility when wiring multiple drivers into demanding door-speaker or pro-audio systems, without sacrificing stereo operation to achieve the required output.

The Powerbox500.2P-V6 is rated at 2 x 500W RMS at 1 ohm, followed by the Powerbox700.2P-V6 for 2 x 700W and the flagship Powerbox900.2P-V6 at 2 x 900W RMS.

Output drops as impedance rises, as you’d expect: the three models deliver 190W, 270W and 390W RMS per channel, respectively at 4 ohms. Each can also be bridged for suitable single-channel applications, with the top model rated at 1,800W RMS bridged into a 2 ohm load. The compact chassis feature custom aluminium heatsinks to manage heat under intense performance, alongside installation-friendly connections and controls, Power and Protect status LEDs, and onboard low-pass and high-pass crossovers adjustable from 20Hz-12kHz.

Vibe positions the range as a practical option for enthusiasts and installers who want serious output across two channels, rather than investing in a premium-priced audiophile amplifier or a mono amp dedicated to subwoofer duty. Prices for the three amplifiers are £174, £249 and £299, respectively.
