The first UK installation of Pioneer’s new retro-inspired car audio range has gone on public display at Car Audio Security in Hayes, fitted to a classic Renault 5 GT Turbo.
The retailer has transformed the hot hatch into a rolling tribute to 1980s and 1990s car audio, pairing Pioneer’s TS-X40SXT rear shelf speakers with the SXT-C10PS retro-style head unit.
While both products look period-correct, they’re packed with modern technology. The single-DIN SXT-C10PS head unit recreates the appearance of a cassette player but features Bluetooth, DAB+, USB connectivity and smartphone integration, while the TS-X40SXT speakers revive the iconic rear shelf box speaker design that became synonymous with modified cars throughout the 1980s and 1990s. The Pioneer head unit is priced at £349, while the retro speakers cost £249.

The Renault 5 GT Turbo is now on display at Car Audio Security’s Hayes showroom, where visitors can experience the system in person and see how the retro-inspired components look installed in a classic vehicle.

The display follows the recent launch of Pioneer’s nostalgia-led product range, combining classic styling with modern performance aimed at enthusiasts restoring or upgrading older cars.
Car Audio Security has also produced demonstration videos of both the retro head unit and speakers through its CASTV YouTube channel.
