Alpine has expanded its aftermarket head unit range with the launch of two new 9in multimedia receivers aimed at drivers looking for a larger touchscreen, improved connectivity and enhanced sound quality. In the UK, Alpine products are available through Horn Distribution – check its website for your nearest installer.

Leading the range is the INE-AX809, a premium Android-based receiver powered by an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, backed by 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Alpine says the increased processing power delivers faster operation and smoother access to apps, media and navigation.

The flagship model also supports Hi-Res Audio playback and includes an AKM7739 DSP processor with a 48-band parametric equaliser for every channel, giving plenty of scope for detailed system tuning.

Connectivity is equally comprehensive, with Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, HDMI, three USB ports, optical audio output and support for rear-view and 360-degree camera systems.

For those looking for a more affordable upgrade, Alpine has also introduced the INE-AW409S, priced at £269. It features a 9in HD touchscreen, Bluetooth streaming, Wi-Fi connectivity and USB playback, making it an attractive option for drivers wanting modern multimedia features without stretching to flagship pricing.

Both units support a wide range of multimedia formats, while Alpine's familiar audio tuning tools, including EQ, balance and fader controls, remain central to the experience.

Installation has also been made easier thanks to a new partnership with UK distributor Sloth Poppy, offering more than 200 dedicated vehicle fitting kits through the new alpinecaraudio.co.uk website, helping customers achieve a factory-style finish across a wide range of vehicles.

As software-defined vehicles making factory infotainment increasingly difficult to replace, high-quality aftermarket head units remain one of the easiest ways to breathe new life into the cabin while retaining the flexibility enthusiasts value.
