DLS has launched the Reference ACW68i24, a compact active subwoofer designed specifically for vehicles with 24V electrical systems, including HGVs and vans. Available in the UK from distributor Sloth Poppy, it features a 6×8in driver, Class AB amplification (find out what that means in our amplifier buying guide) and a low-profile design measuring just 72mm high.
Designed for installation under a seat or in a storage compartment, the ACW68i24 aims to add extra punch without sacrificing valuable space, rated at 120W RMS and 250W peak. Its Kick Bass function targets the 70-100Hz region, helping to fill a gap in the frequency response that can be particularly noticeable in trucks, where the listener sits close to the door speakers.
Installation features include a quick-release connector, high-level inputs with automatic turn-on and DLS’s Smart Load Circuit for integration with modern vehicle electronics. An updated power supply is designed to maintain stable output when vehicle voltage drops, while a Bass Optimise Circuit offers adjustment from -6dB to +6dB at 55Hz.
The subwoofer can be used as a standalone upgrade or integrated into a larger audio system. Bass Junkies lists it at £199.
