That’s exactly what Morel is targeting with its new MPD 5.550, an all-in-one amplifier designed to power front speakers, rear speakers and a subwoofer from a single chassis.
Distributed in the UK by Celsus ICE, the amplifier joins Morel’s existing MPD range, which already includes four-channel and monoblock models.
The MPD 5.550 delivers 75W x 4 plus 250W x 1 at 4 ohms, rising to 110W x 4 and 400W x 1 at 2 ohms, making it suitable for a wide range of everyday speaker and subwoofer combinations.
Like the rest of the MPD family, the newcomer focuses on combining respectable power output with a compact footprint that can be tucked away under a seat or hidden elsewhere in the vehicle. Features include variable high-pass and low-pass crossovers, bridgeable channels, multiple turn-on options and support for a variety of system configurations.

For many installers and enthusiasts, simplicity, flexibility and installation space can be just as important.
