Adding a subwoofer to your car usually involves making a choice: more bass or somewhere to put the shopping. Morel reckons its new Primo SL active enclosures can deliver both.
Distributed in the UK by Celsus ICE, the new Primo SL 8AE at £549 and 10AE at £599 combine shallow subwoofers with a built-in 350W RMS amplifier, offering a compact bass upgrade for factory and aftermarket audio systems.
Available in 8in and 10in versions, both models feature high- and low-level inputs for straightforward integration with a wide range of vehicles.
The enclosures are designed to work in down-firing, up-firing or vertical configurations, with removable feet featuring built-in Velcro hook pads to help secure them in place. A cast-aluminium Lotus grille is included, while a remote bass controller allows the driver to adjust the level from the front of the vehicle.
There’s also a quick-disconnect power terminal, allowing the enclosure to be removed when you need the full boot for something other than bass.
The 8in model measures 42cm wide, 32.6cm deep and 16.5cm high, while the 10in version is 46cm wide, 33.8cm deep and 16.5cm high.
Morel is riding high after its Ultimo Pro 104D scooped an EISA award for Best In-Car Subwoofer, meaning the brand knows a thing or two about bass.
