11,000 Mobile Speed Camera Hotspots Mapped Across UK – And Now Your Car Can Warn You

There are more than 11,000 mobile speed camera hotspots across the UK – and now drivers can get a heads-up without relying on their phone.

Road safety tech firm OOONO has combined police and local authority data with years of analysis to map where mobile enforcement is most likely to appear.

Instead of another screen, its Co-Driver devices use simple audio alerts to warn you as you approach known hotspots. No distractions, no fiddling – just a nudge when it matters.

Mobile cameras are notoriously unpredictable, popping up in lay-bys, on bridges or at village entrances. This data highlights the areas they return to most often – typically routes with higher risk or accident history.

Rural roads dominate the list, with counties like Derbyshire, Lancashire and Wiltshire among the most heavily covered. It’s a reminder that enforcement is far more widespread than many drivers think.

This ties into the wider trend, with speeding offences and penalty points continuing to climb. More awareness in the right places could make a real difference.

Alongside camera alerts, the system also taps into a live driver network, flagging hazards like roadworks or debris ahead.

Fewer surprises, less distraction, and ideally fewer fines – hard to argue with that.
