If car thieves were hoping for an easier 2025, Tracker clearly didn’t get the memo. The company has just posted a seriously strong year, helping return £41.2 million-worth of stolen vehicles to their rightful owners while working closely with police forces across the country to disrupt increasingly organised vehicle crime networks.

The headline number is the 1,707 vehicles recovered — a sizeable jump from 1,102 in 2024 — alongside 147 arrests that helped take more than a few professional thieves off the road. Tracker also assisted in recovering 200 stolen vehicles that weren’t even fitted with its systems, proving that once law enforcement is on the scent, good things tend to happen.

Perhaps most telling? A staggering 78 chop shops uncovered. That’s not opportunistic theft — that’s organised criminal infrastructure being dismantled.

Some of the year’s standout recoveries read like a police drama highlight reel. A £200,000 Lamborghini was located in Wembley less than three hours after activation, and a Mercedes-Benz GLC 350 AMG, stolen with keys, was recovered in just two hours. Meanwhile, a Lexus on false plates led to five arrests, and a Ford Transit Custom was tracked down in Edinburgh with another suspect detained.

Zoom out, and the cumulative figures are even more impressive, with £661 million total recovered value, 30,983 vehicles recovered, 3,257 arrests supported, and 3,251 additional stolen vehicles located

Vehicle crime is evolving fast — relay attacks, key cloning, organised export operations — but Tracker’s investment in technology, intelligence and police partnerships suggests it has no intention of playing catch-up. For insurers, manufacturers and motorists alike, the message is reassuringly simple: if your vehicle disappears, there’s a very good chance Tracker will help bring it home.
