Upgrade to a Larger Screen with Connects2’s CTK9 Adapter Kits – and Keep it Looking Factory

There’s a good reason large floating-screen head units have become one of the most popular upgrades in car audio. They instantly modernise an ageing dashboard, add wireless smartphone connectivity, and make navigation and media far easier to use.

The challenge has always been making them look like they belong there.

Connects2 has long been a specialist in vehicle-specific adapter kits, helping installers and enthusiasts fit a wide range of aftermarket tech – from head units and speakers to parking sensors and accessories – while integrating seamlessly with factory systems and controls. Its new CTK9 range comprises all-in-one installation kits for a variety of vehicles, allowing owners to fit a modern 9in aftermarket head unit while retaining factory steering wheel controls and achieving an OEM-style finish.

Available for everything from the VW Golf Mk6 (2008-2013) and Suzuki Jimny (2018-2025) to the Mercedes A-Class, Ford Kuga, Skoda Kodiaq (2017-2025) and Isuzu D-Max, the CTK9 range is impressively broad – check the Connects2 website to see if your car is covered.

Each kit includes a vehicle-specific fascia panel, steering wheel control interface and patch lead, removing much of the complexity traditionally associated with aftermarket screen upgrades.

The fascia itself is the key component. Rather than squeezing a large display into a generic double-DIN opening, the system replaces the factory trim with a purpose-designed surround that accommodates a 9in screen while matching the dashboard’s original styling.

Importantly, steering wheel controls remain fully functional thanks to the included interface module.

For many drivers, the appeal goes beyond simply having a bigger screen. A modern Pioneer or Kenwood head unit can add wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, DAB radio, improved Bluetooth connectivity and access to higher-quality audio processing, bringing a 10- or 15-year-old vehicle much closer to current standards.

Most CTK9 kits are designed specifically for Pioneer and Kenwood’s “Perfect Fit” 9in receivers, meaning compatibility is limited to those brands rather than universal floating-screen units – but that still leaves a strong selection.

Pricing varies depending on vehicle complexity, with most kits sitting around the £99 mark, although some can exceed £300.

For anyone looking to modernise an older vehicle without sacrificing factory functionality or dashboard aesthetics, Connects2’s CTK9 range may be one of the cleanest upgrade paths currently available.
