Edge Car Audio has unveiled one of the UK’s most extreme demo vehicles – a heavily modified VW Transporter built to showcase the brand’s latest high-output audio equipment at events across the country. And yes, it’s every bit as excessive as it sounds.
Take a quick look at the video here, showing the before and after transformation:
At the heart of the build, right behind the seats up front, sits a huge custom-fabricated ported enclosure, with 15.72 cu ft of internal volume, housing three Edge EDU18 18in subwoofers. Edge admits that the enclosure is very compact, with the recommended volume around 6-7.5 cu ft for each sub of this type. The reason for designing smaller is purely to keep the van practical, but with 100mm four-layer aluminium voice coils and a multi-stack magnet motor structure, they handle the elevated pressure that comes with a smaller box easily, without losing composure or output.

The subs are powered by three Edge EDX5000.1 monoblock amplifiers, mounted on a panel just behind the rear doors, delivering a combined 15,000W RMS. The enclosure itself is tuned to 24Hz for proper subsonic bass, with lithium battery banks installed to keep voltage stable under heavy load.
The result? In a video from Hayes dealer Car Audio Security, filmed at their recent CAS Weekender, the van’s windscreen visibly flexes, held in place by a sturdy metal support beam, while interior trim pieces shake violently under bass pressure.

Up front, the build features six Edge Neo 6.5in mid-range drivers and three Edge EDX tweeters per car door, mounted into heavily customised panels, all controlled through an EDGE EDS8DSP-V3 eight-channel DSP, with a PC-based tuning profile still in development.
Outside, the Transporter gets full Edge branding and a set of 3DSM alloy wheels, turning it into what is essentially a rolling advert for the brand’s UK line-up.
Loud? Definitely. Subtle? Absolutely not.
