Hyundai Adds Google Places to Navigation – Finding a Coffee Just Got Easier

Lost in a new town and unsure whether ‘Dave’s Café’ is a charming local gem or a health hazard? Hyundai’s got your back. The carmaker has just added Google Places to its navigation systems – making in-car destination searches smarter, quicker and a lot more informative

Rolling out across all Hyundai models with the latest ccNC infotainment and software – including the KONA, SANTA FE, TUCSON, IONIQ 5, IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 9 – the feature plugs directly into Google’s huge POI database. That means over 200 million locations are now searchable right from your dash, with helpful extras like opening hours, reviews, images, and filters for everything from pizza to petrol.

Even better, the system uses Google’s powerful autocomplete and free-text search, so you don’t need to know the exact name of a spot – just type ‘best fish and chips’ and go.

This latest move builds on Hyundai’s expanding partnership with Google, and helps cement its rep as one of the more tech-savvy brands in the game. If your satnav used to feel a bit, well, 2008, this is a serious glow-up.

No extra charges, no extra logins – just better search, baked right into the car.
