If you’re still hunting for the perfect Christmas gift and want to surprise a loved one – or even yourself – with a hi-tech car audio upgrade, let JVCKenwood play Secret Santa. The company has rolled out a sleigh-full of new in-dash units, just in time for the festive season.

First up is the Kenwood DMX80ASX Perfect Fit – a 9in screen designed specifically to tackle the flood of low-cost Android units doing the rounds. Unlike many of those, this is a proper Kenwood-built product, based on the brand’s proven DMX platform, with licensed Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto, a clean OEM-style fit, and full UK vehicle integration.
The big win here is installation. The DMX80ASX uses vehicle-specific perfect-fit kits, retains steering wheel controls and vehicle features, and plugs straight in using proper looms – no bare wires, no software gymnastics, and no praying to the CAN-BUS gods. It launches with support for around 120 vehicles, including many that can’t take traditional single- or double-DIN units, opening the door for older cars, vans, and tricky dashboards. Prices start at £399 and vary according to vehicle model.
And no, it doesn’t run hot. Kenwood is very keen to point that out.

Then there’s the 9in single-DIN JVC KW-Z900DBW floating screen – because apparently 7in displays are now considered quaint. This has just landed at Halfords, priced at £499, making it one of the more accessible big-screen upgrades on the UK high street.

Floating screens make particular sense for vans, campers, and motorhomes, which brings us neatly to the Kenwood DMX-F920DS. There’s a video here showing it installed in a Ford Transit, and it’s exactly the sort of setup day-van and motorhome owners have been crying out for: big, bright display, wireless smartphone integration, and a footprint that actually fits real dashboards. Price starts around £499.
No gimmicks, no mystery firmware, just proper car audio built for the UK market. Imagine that.
