VIDEO: Kicker’s LX Amplifiers Offer Switchable Lighting, External DSP Controllers and Up to 3,000W

Kicker has just launched its new flagship LX amplifier range in the UK, and these aren’t your average “big power, tiny heatsink” amps.

Distributed through Celsus UK, the new seven-model line-up combines proper DSP tuning features, switchable RGB lighting, a ton of flexibility, and compact Class D efficiency. And yes, there’s even a model capable of 3,000W RMS at 1 ohm.

Kicker has already produced a one-hour video offering a deep dive into these amps, or you can watch a shorter intro here:

The new LX range includes four monoblocks (the LX850.1, the LX1250.1, the LX1650.1, and the LX3000.1), alongside four-channel (the LX500.4), five-channel (the LX1200.5) and seven-channel (the LX1300.7) models, with outputs ranging from the 4 x 125W LX500.4 right up to the aforementioned 1 x 3000W.

All models are built around compact Class D designs and Kicker says they were engineered entirely in-house in the USA.

One of the standout features is the RGB lighting system built into both the amplifiers and optional bass controller. Users can customise the colour to match the theme of the vehicle, because if your boot install glows the wrong shade of purple in 2026, apparently society collapses.

More interesting is the way Kicker has handled set-up and tuning. Instead of covering the amplifier itself in dozens of tiny switches and crossover dials nobody can reach once it’s installed, the new full-range LX amps use a removable external tuning module called the LXCC (LX Control Center).

A quick explanatory video of this can be found here:

This lets installers configure crossover points, time alignment, DSP settings, clipping indicators and EQ adjustments externally before disconnecting the controller once set-up is complete. It’s actually a very smart idea. For installers, it prevents customers from accidentally turning everything to maximum bass at 11pm, and for owners it means a cleaner installation and less temptation to fiddle with settings that took hours to tune properly.

The monoblock and bass-focused amps also include the LXRC remote controller featuring RGB lighting, battery voltage display and Kicker’s SHOCwave2.0 bass restoration technology, designed to recover low-frequency information often lost in compressed music files.

A video on the bass controller can be found here:

The flagship models are seriously powerful too. The LX850.1 produces 850W RMS at 1 ohm, while the LX1650.1 jumps to 1650W RMS. Meanwhile, the LX1300.7 acts as an all-in-one solution with seven channels capable of powering an entire active audio system plus subwoofer from a single amplifier.

All seven amps also feature Kicker’s FIT+ differential input technology, supporting both high and low-level inputs up to 40V while helping eliminate unwanted noise - increasingly important in modern vehicles packed with complicated factory electronics.

Pricing starts at around £449 for the LX850.1 and rises to £949 for the seven-channel LX1300.7, with the monster LX3000.1 landing at roughly £899. Which, considering the power on offer, feels surprisingly reasonable. Especially if your idea of “reasonable” includes 3,000W and glowing bass controls.
