Renault and Software République have unveiled cleveR insights, a concept that turns the humble Twingo E-Tech electric into a rolling urban data platform capable of collecting and analysing real-time information from city environments.
Based on the compact all-electric Twingo, the system is designed to help public authorities better understand and manage urban spaces by turning everyday driving routes into continuous data-gathering missions.

At its core, cleveR insights uses an integrated sensor arch mounted on the vehicle roof, housing cameras and environmental sensors capable of monitoring air quality, noise levels, road surface conditions and other urban indicators.
The data is processed to create a live, evolving picture of city conditions, designed to support more informed planning, maintenance and sustainability decisions.

Renault says the concept reflects a broader shift in mobility, where vehicles are no longer just transport tools but active contributors to urban intelligence systems.
The Twingo E-Tech platform has been chosen for its compact footprint and city-friendly design. “Compact size and manoeuvrability in urban areas, electric powertrain, and ability to be transformed into a mobile high-tech platform,” Renault notes as key advantages.

The concept also supports modular mission-based use, allowing equipment to be adapted for different data collection or municipal tasks.
cleveR insights is part of Renault’s wider Renaulution strategy, which aims to position future vehicles as connected, multi-role mobility platforms rather than standalone products.
