Sonos Partners With Skoda to Power Premium Audio in New Flagship Peaq EV

Skoda’s new all-electric Peaq SUV will launch with a bespoke premium sound system developed in partnership with Sonos, marking one of the most high-profile in-car collaborations yet for the US audio company.

The system will be available as part of the optional Relax Package and has been engineered specifically for the Peaq, rather than adapted from an existing home audio platform. Sonos says it has effectively shaped the in-cabin listening experience from the ground up, influencing how music, voice and entertainment are delivered across all seating positions.

Tom Conrad
, CEO of Sonos, said the partnership reflects how listening habits are moving beyond the home: “Sonos is built around the idea that sound should move effortlessly through the home. The car is an increasingly natural extension of that – a place where the quality of what people hear matters just as much. As listening flows beyond the front door, this partnership enables us to imagine how the Sonos system can too.”

Skoda, meanwhile, is positioning the Peaq as a more lifestyle-focused flagship within its EV range, with the audio system forming a key part of the cabin experience. A spokesperson for the brand said the goal was to create a “front-focused soundstage” with rich, balanced output across every seat, alongside deep but controlled bass and a strong sense of immersion.

Technically, the system comprises 16 speakers producing 755W of output, with dedicated components designed to optimise performance. The set-up includes a dual-subwoofer arrangement and a series of A-pillar and rear surround speakers intended to create a more spatial, layered listening environment.

The Peaq itself also debuts Skoda’s latest infotainment architecture, built around a vertically mounted 13.6in Android-based display, alongside expanded connected services through the MySkoda app. Features include remote charging control, cabin pre-conditioning and EV-specific route and energy tools.

The collaboration follows earlier automotive work from Sonos with Audi and signals a broader push by premium audio brands into factory-fitted in-car systems, as manufacturers look to differentiate EV interiors beyond range and performance alone.

With spatial audio and immersive listening increasingly shaping both home and mobile entertainment, the Peaq partnership suggests in-car sound is becoming a central part of the premium EV experience rather than an optional extra.
