Unveiled this week, the all-electric Volvo EX60 marks a major shift in how drivers interact with their cars. It’s the first Volvo to launch with Google’s Gemini AI assistant built in, allowing drivers to speak naturally to the car rather than relying on fixed voice commands.
Gemini is deeply integrated into the EX60’s systems, enabling hands-free, multi-step conversations while keeping eyes on the road. Drivers can ask it to find information buried in emails, check whether luggage will fit in the boot, or even help plan a road trip — all without touching the screen. The goal is to reduce distraction while making the car genuinely helpful in everyday use.

The EX60 introduces Volvo’s newly named HuginCore system — a software-defined architecture that brings together the vehicle’s electrical system, core computing, zone controllers and software stack. Powered by NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin and Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon Cockpit and connectivity platforms, the EX60 offers the most processing power ever fitted to a Volvo, enabling ultra-responsive infotainment and advanced driver assistance features.
That computing muscle also underpins Volvo’s safety ambitions. With the ability to process over 250 trillion operations per second, the EX60 continuously analyses data from its sensors, learning not just from the driver’s behaviour but from anonymised insights gathered across Volvo’s global fleet. Over-the-air updates ensure the car improves over time, rather than ageing out.
Range and charging performance also move the needle. Volvo claims up to 810km of range in all-wheel-drive form, with the ability to add up to 340km in just ten minutes using a 400kW fast charger — placing the EX60 firmly among the strongest EV offerings in its class.
