VIDEO: DD Audio Launches Waterproof DSI-X2 DSP for Cars, Boats and Off-Road Builds

DD Audio has unveiled its latest digital signal processor, and unlike most DSPs on the market, this one isn’t afraid of getting wet.

The new DSI-X2 combines an eight-channel DSP with an IPX7 waterproof rating, making it suitable not only for traditional car audio installations, but also marine, powersports and off-road applications where exposure to the elements is a genuine concern.

Despite its rugged credentials, the focus has been on making advanced tuning more accessible.

Here’s Blake Brockhaus at DD Audio with an overview:

The DSI-X2 features Bluetooth connectivity with Android and iOS app control, allowing users to configure the processor directly from a smartphone or tablet. Six user presets can be stored, making it easy to switch between different tuning profiles depending on vehicle use or listening preference.

Under the surface, it's fully featured.

The processor offers four high-level inputs, four RCA inputs and eight RCA outputs, alongside a 15-band parametric equaliser, phase correction, adjustable crossover settings and automatic time-alignment calculations.

Everything you need – the DSP module, cables, control module and an app

DD Audio also claims significant improvements in processing quality, reducing noise and distortion to levels that remain inaudible even on highly sensitive compression-driver systems.

One particularly useful feature is the ability to link multiple DSI-X2 units together, effectively allowing unlimited system expansion for more ambitious installations.

Blake explains more with his quick set-up guide:

With a US retail price of US$249 (£199 approx), the DSI-X2 sits firmly in the affordable end of the DSP market while offering features normally associated with more expensive processors – see our round-up of the year’s best to find out more.

UK availability is expected through SCR Distribution, DD Audio’s official distributor in the UK.

For marine projects, UTVs, campervans or any build where water resistance matters, it could prove one of the more interesting DSP launches of 2026.
