If your sound system already rattles mirrors and flexes door cards, GAS Audio Power reckons it’s time the highs caught up too.
The Swedish car audio brand has launched its new MAD PT3-444 horn tweeter in the UK through distributor Sloth Poppy, bringing a seriously aggressive-looking compression tweeter aimed squarely at loud daily systems, demo builds and full-on SPL installs.

Part of the brand’s MAD range – which focuses on high-output speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers designed to be “heard, not hidden” – the PT3-444, measuring 160mm x 140 mm, uses a 1.75in KSV voice coil, titanium cone and chunky ferrite motor set-up to deliver 107dB sensitivity and up to 200W max power handling.
In simple terms? It’s designed to scream over huge mid-bass drivers and subwoofer systems without giving up halfway through the volume knob.
GAS says the tweeter is aimed at systems where “the highs cannot sit back and play nice”, adding: “It cuts hard, stays right there when the volume climbs and gives the whole system more edge, more presence and more reason to turn heads.”

Unlike softer silk-dome tweeters more commonly found in OEM-style upgrades, horn-loaded compression tweeters like this are all about attack, projection and efficiency. They’re typically installed in custom door builds, A-pillars or demo vehicles where sheer output matters just as much as clarity.
The PT3-444 also gets a cast aluminium horn body to help with cooling and durability, alongside a copper shorting ring designed to reduce distortion when pushed hard. Frequency response is rated from 3kHz-20kHz, with a wide 60x90-degree dispersion pattern intended to spread sound across the cabin rather than beam it into one ear.
