Sound deadening might not be the most obvious candidate for a glamorous SEMA makeover, but Dynamat has arrived at the legendary car show at the Las Vegas Convention Center this week with rather more than a few rolls of acoustic material. The company is showcasing its new AI-powered online tool, welcoming celebrity guests and displaying some seriously tasty classic cars equipped with its products.

Meet DAIA: Your AI-Powered Noise Detective

One of Dynamat’s headline announcements at SEMA is DAIA, a new AI-powered platform designed to help drivers understand unwanted noise, vibration and heat-related comfort problems. Available entirely online, DAIA is effectively a digital starting point for anyone who’s ever wondered why their car sounds like a bag of spanners at 60mph.

The platform offers several ways to investigate vehicle noise concerns, starting with a free searchable knowledge base covering common noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) problems. Users can also ask DAIA questions through its interactive AI assistant, exploring potential causes and possible treatment options. There’s even an audio analysis feature, allowing drivers to upload a recorded WAV file from their vehicle for further investigation.

Another feature is VIN Check, which searches the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) database for reported noise, vibration and harshness concerns associated with a vehicle’s make and model.

For installers and car audio retailers, DAIA also offers the ability to produce printed vehicle noise reports. These can help explain potential treatment areas and support recommendations for suitable Dynamat products and installation work.

Classic Cars Get the Dynamat Treatment

Of course, there’s no shortage of automotive eye candy at SEMA, and Dynamat has been making good use of its Hot Rod Alley stand to showcase some rather special machinery.
‍

One such vehicle is a 1967 Ford Mustang GT500 ‘Eleanor’ restomod built by Sin City Motors. This Vegas company specialises in Mustang restorations and restomods for clients worldwide, fitting each model with Dynamat Xtreme sound deadening to help reduce vibrations and road noise. Showgoers also have a chance to win the car by purchasing raffle tickets at SEMA, with proceeds going to Punch 4 Parkinson’s, a charity that uses non-contact boxing training to help people living with Parkinson’s disease.
‍

Also on show is a 1936 Ford Coupe Roadster owned by entrepreneur Robert Mulvin, which custom-car builders Rick Dore Kustoms only finished on Sunday. The highly customised, stretched and air-suspended machine also features Dynamat, showcased through cut-outs in the boot. Business owner Rick Dore has reportedly been using Dynamat for almost 30 years, making him a pretty convincing advocate for the brand’s products.
‍

Another head-turner is the 1967 Chevrolet Corvette from Pure Vision Design, the creation of automotive designer Steve Strope. The Corvette features a bespoke luxury interior, matching luggage and Dynamat throughout.

Celebrity Guests Take the Stage

Dynamat has also been bringing some familiar faces to its SEMA stand, with a programme of celebrity appearances and meet-and-greet opportunities.

First up was Dave Kindig, owner of styling and customisation company Kindig-It Design, which has built a substantial following through its YouTube channel, posting new videos every Wednesday and Saturday. Kindig’s employee and co-host Kevin ‘Kev Dogg’ Schiele was also there, with the pair using their appearance to unveil a 1968 Pontiac Bonneville, as seen in the video above.

Next is Courtney Hansen, the host of Ride of Your Life with Courtney Hansen on HBO Max, who is stopping by for photos and autographs. The reality show sees Courtney and her team of custom-car builders restore, customise and rebuild classic and vintage vehicles for individuals who have experienced personal hardships and setbacks.

Dynamat’s approach shows how a familiar aftermarket product can be given a fresh lease of life through technology, partnerships, celebrity appearances and a bit of automotive theatre.

In the UK, Dynamat products are distributed by Celsus ICE.
