Motormax has launched a new fleet safety group following the acquisition of bus and coach safety specialist Elite Vehicle Supplies, bringing together two businesses focused on reducing risk and improving vehicle safety.
The newly formed Motormax Group combines Motormax’s expertise in fleet safety technology, vehicle electronics and connected solutions with Elite’s experience in fire suppression, accessibility and safety systems for passenger transport operators.
Founded in 2010, Lichfield-based Motormax designs, manufactures and installs safety technology solutions for commercial fleets, including camera systems, vehicle monitoring equipment and driver assistance technology.
Elite, based in Stokesley, has developed a strong reputation within the bus and coach sector, working with operators, manufacturers and organisations including Transport for London (TfL). Founders Scott Forman and Jayne Forman will stay on in their respective roles as managing director and operations director, ensuring continuity for customers, suppliers, employees and other stakeholders.
The merger is intended to strengthen Motormax’s position across the UK commercial vehicle market while expanding its offering for fleet operators looking to improve safety, compliance and operational performance.

The move follows investment in Motormax from private equity firm MxP Partners LLP in 2025, supporting further development of its technology portfolio, engineering capability and international expansion plans.
Motormax has already demonstrated the impact of integrated safety technology through projects such as its partnership with construction materials supplier Tarmac and telematics provider Geotab. Following installation of Motormax multi-camera systems alongside telematics technology, Tarmac reported a 30 per cent reduction in driver-fault collisions and a 30 per cent reduction in collision repair costs across its van fleet.
The company has also recently introduced its Low Bridge Detection System, which uses AI, GPS data or both to identify potential height-clearance risks and provide early warnings to drivers of high-sided vehicles.
