Stinger Acquires Specialist Off-Road Audio Brand UTV Stereo

Stinger Electronics has announced its acquisition of UTV Stereo, a US brand specialising in high-powered audio systems for side-by-sides (SSVs) and utility terrain vehicles (UTVs).

While UTV audio might still be a fairly niche category in the UK, the move is interesting given Stinger’s growing presence in Europe.

UTV Stereo brings big bass and neon-lit installs to serious off-road builds

Founded by off-road enthusiasts and built around the demanding conditions of desert trails and dune riding, UTV Stereo focuses on rugged audio systems designed specifically for recreational vehicles. Think weather-resistant speakers, powerful amplifiers and fit-for-purpose installations capable of surviving mud, vibration and plenty of abuse – while still being loud enough to hear over an engine and a helmet.

“This acquisition represents another strategic step in building a category-defining platform of enthusiast brands,” says Scott Forst, CEO of Stinger. “By bringing UTV Stereo into the Stinger platform, we accelerate our ability to deliver fully integrated, high-performance solutions while continuing to expand our leadership in vehicle-specific upgrades.”

Stinger says the acquisition strengthens its wider strategy around integrated aftermarket ecosystems, with brands including PAC, AudioControl and Stinger HEXCORE off-road and vehicle lighting now sitting under the same umbrella.

UTV Stereo products are currently focused on the North American market, but with Stinger actively expanding its global footprint – and the potential European market for pick-ups, campers and SSVs – don’t be surprised if some of this tech eventually makes its way across the Atlantic.
